Jessica Andrée Tantin is the inaugural Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the New England Aquarium. With over 20 years of professional experience, Jessica is a dynamic leader committed to championing change and fostering inclusive leadership. Her diverse cultural background, shaped by her formative years in Paris and Guadeloupe, has been instrumental in her approach to creating inclusive environments.
In her role at the New England Aquarium, Jessica collaborates with the Chief People Officer to oversee and coordinate DEI efforts across the organization. She is dedicated to ensuring that every individual, regardless of their background, feels recognized, valued, and empowered to thrive. Her expertise extends to strategic planning, policy development, and data-driven decision-making. Jessica is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Education (Ed.D) program in Leadership for Organizations at the University of Dayton, reflecting her commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth. She holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Hartford, an MS in Strategy, Management, and Leadership from Michigan State University, and two Diversity & Inclusion certificates from Cornell University. She is also a certified cultural intelligence (CQ®) facilitator. Prior to her current position, Jessica held various leadership roles at Aramark, where she managed profit and loss (P&L) for large teams and oversaw employee resource group hubs across multiple sectors, including Sports & Entertainment, Workplace Hospitality, and Collegiate Hospitality. Her tenure at Aramark is a testament to her dedication and expertise in promoting inclusive leadership. Additionally, Jessica's experience in public relations and journalism is highlighted by her role as Owner and CEO of Kepra Communication in Paris, where she championed Black-owned businesses and managed public relations for notable clients. She also served as the Editor in Chief of Miss Ébène Magazine, celebrating Black beauty and women's achievements. Jessica's commitment to community service is demonstrated through her volunteer work with Dress for Success, where she supported its mission to empower women to achieve economic independence, and her role on the Board of Directors for the League of Women Voters Boston, where she advocates for informed and active participation in civic life. Outside of her professional life, Jessica is an avid traveler, manga reader, and swimming and tennis enthusiast. She is also a loving cat mom to her tuxedo cats, Figaro and Luffy. |
