Bringing eDNA to the Streets

Picture
Our flagship project, "Bringing eDNA to the Streets," is focused on empowering coastal communities with the knowledge and tools needed to monitor and protect their local marine environments. We utilize environmental DNA (eDNA), a cutting-edge technique that allows us to identify species present in a given area by analyzing DNA fragments in water or sediment samples.
Picture
Through community BioBlitzes, we engage residents in hands-on scientific exploration, collecting eDNA samples and contributing to a growing database of biodiversity information. This data helps us understand how our ecosystems are changing and informs conservation efforts.

Explore the Map

Click on the markers to learn more about each BioBlitz location, the species we've detected, and the community partners involved. Your journey into the world of eDNA starts here!
